description Camping and a wealth of other outdoor activities are available only 20 minutes from downtown Oakland at the 5,067-acre Anthony Chabot Park, part of the East Bay Regional Park District. It's a beautiful year-round public campground with miles of hiking and riding trails.
drivingDirection There are several access points to Anthony Chabot Regional Park, located on Redwood Road in the hills above Oakland. From I-580 West in Castro Valley, take the Redwood Road exit (Exit 36) and turn RIGHT at Redwood Road. From I-580 East in Castro Valley, take the Redwood Road exit (Exit 36) and turn LEFT at Redwood Road. Once on Redwood Road, continue on Redwood Road for 6 miles through town and past the Proctor Staging Area, Willow Park Golf Course, and the Chabot Staging Area. Turn LEFT at the Marciel Gate onto Marciel Road Enter the park on Marciel Road and continue for 2 miles (veer left at the Marksmanship Range entrance) ARRIVE at the Anthony Chabot Family Campground entrance at the end of Marciel Road (0.4 miles beyond the Marksmanship Range entrance) Marciel Gate street address: 9999 Redwood Road, Castro Valley, CA 94546
facilitiesDescription Group Camping - Two Rocks: Group camping will have priority over backpacking use of the site by virture of being able to make reservations earlier. Two Rocks may be reserved for backpacking no more than 30 days in advance and must be made at least 5 days in advance. Backpacking use is for groups of 10 or less and will be charged backpack fees. Two Rocks is open April through October. Two Rocks is located in the middle of Anthony Chabot Regional Park near other group campsites and is connected by a side trail to the Skyline National Trail. Anthony Chabot Family Campground overlooks Lake Chabot. Hike-in sites (13-22) are closed from November 1-March 31. Hike-In Tent sites are NOT backpack sites. Reservations are taken for Hike-In Tent sites starting 12 weeks to the day, and up to 2 days prior. The campground has RV, trailer, tent, and Hike-In Tent campsites, hot showers, campfire programs and an amphitheater. Family campsite reservations can be made online or by calling the Reservations Department at 1-888-EBPARKS (1-888-327-2757) Option 2. Groups of 11 or more are encouraged to use group campsites. Group campsites are available by advanced reservation only (5 days advance/phone only). Call 1-888-EBPARKS (1-888-327-2757), Option 2. The first vehicle is included with your reservation; a second vehicle will be charged an Extra Vehicle Fee of $8 per night upon arrival at the park. Maximum of two vehicles allowed per site, OVERFLOW PARKING IS NOT AVAILABLE. All vehicles must fit on the paved parking pad, maximum total length 35 feet.

importantInformation TO MAKE A PAYMENT for Group, or Backpack camping reservations, call East Bay Regional Park District Reservations Department 1-888-327-2757, option 2. For campground sites: One vehicle is included with your reservation. A second vehicle will be charged $8 per night upon arrival at the park. Dogs are not included with your reservation. Dogs will be charged $2 per night, per dog upon arrival at the park. The campground entry gate is locked every night at 10:00pm. No entry is possible after 10:00pm until the gate re-opens at 8:00am the next morning. Campers may exit the campground at any time. Generators may not be run in the campground.
